It was great to meet up with Simon Barnes last week on his run from John O’Groats to Lands End is in order to raise money for the MS Society.

Over £300 was made today (25th September) for Macmillan Cancer Support as well as a number of Comfort Blankets to be sent to Macmillan.

David recently visited many of the places and clubs that have benefitted from Lottery Awards over the last 12 months.

On the afternoon of the 25th September David accompanied the Princess Royal on various visits in Stroud area. Their first visit was to the Bottle Green Company, an exemplar of a successful Stroud Business.

David and friends are organising a Macmillan Cancer Support Coffee Morning at The Old Town Hall on Friday 25th September 2009 from 10.30 until noon.

On the 23rd September David met with concerned residents in the Parish of Selsley on the issue of bad driving. Representatives from the local community are asking for traffic measures to be put in place to protect them from careless and ignorant drivers speeding through the village.

On Tuesday 15th September I had the great pleasure of opening the 2i’s Cafe in Stonehouse. Many of us have watched with interest for several months the renovations that have been taking place on that part of the High Street.

On Sunday 13th September I attended the Bicentennial Anniversary Service for Dursley Tabernacle United Reformed Church. It is splendid to see the Church, one of my favourites in the District completely refurbished and looking very modern for a building 200 years old.

During the afternoon of Sunday 13th September I went out with the Stonehouse Wheelers on one of my too infrequent rides with them. The centre-point was a picnic down by the old Darrell Arms at Framilode.
