Don’t write off people with autism

David is backing a National Autistic Society (NAS) campaign to stop adults with autism being written-off by the employment and benefits system. A new report by the NAS reveals a third of people with the condition currently live without a job and without benefits; many are forced to rely on family and friends for help.

The Hunting Ban of 2004 outlawed the cruel and barbaric ‘sport’ of hunting with hounds, and the terrible suffering that it brings to foxes, deer, hares and other hunted animals.

Cadbury Meets Its Fairtrade Commitment

David attended the Operation Noah Rally with Bishop of London to highlight threat of climate change

On the 2nd July David attended an Operation Noah rally to show his support for the need to tackle climate change. Operation Noah is a Christian climate change campaign. They held a rally in central London to highlight the need for governments to tackle the threat of climate change at a crucial United Nations Summit in Copenhagen in December.

David joins Douglas Alexander in the fight against global poverty

David welcomed plans to spend more UK overseas aid on helping poor people in states affected by conflict. The new policy was unveiled in a White Paper published by International Development Secretary, Douglas Alexander on the 6th July.

Last week I was one of a group of MPs that handed in a petition of 1.5m signatures to the Prime Minister. The petition was to seek to reduce the number of animals used in animal experimentation. As such it was part of the 'Uncaged' campaign which has been running for some years.
